A problem shared is a problem halved

Another thing I did starting out in my journey is joining online groups, well, just one http://thisnakedmind.com. I cannot express how important it is/was to know that there are/were so many other people out there going through the same thing.

I am still a very active member in this community and am presently going through a live Alcohol Experiment. The support that is offered by Annie and Scott and their coaches, as well as other team members is so impressive.

After completing the first 30 day alcohol experiment, I longed for something more and signed up for the 100 Days of Lasting Change with Annie Grace. All the while, reading books on alcohol. On day 95 of this class, the topic was “stop hiding”. That is when I decided to share my story on Facebook, which led me to starting my own blog.

Since then, I have had so many people reach out to me. Sharing they are struggling too, or that they have a loved-one they are concerned about. It is so gratifying to me that these people feel safe reaching out to me and I hope I’ve helped them. But it is also so satisfying for me to know it is reciprocal. I know at a moment’s notice, I can reach out to one of them if I’m struggling.

I just heard the phrase (the title of this post) recently and it spoke volumes to me. Share your story, listen to other’s people’s stories. It helps so much, trust me.
